Democrat Ron Goldberg is WRONG for Morris Township Committee
Democrat Ron Goldberg has already cost Morris Township taxpayers $$$!
Ever since he was elected to the Morris Township Committee, Democrat Ron Goldberg has been a supporter of organized labor, much like the Democrats in Trenton. His favoritism has cost Morris Township taxpayers real money, though. Here are the facts:
- Labor unions have returned Democrat Ron Goldberg's support. He asked for, and received, the endorsement of some of the Township's workers’ unions. This was not illegal, but it was certainly unwise, and clearly unprecedented in our town. Republican elected officials in Morris Township have steadfastly kept politics out of the municipal workplace in order to prevent conflicts of interest!
- Democratic Party financial disclosure forms show money poured in from unions all over the country during 2006, and again in 2007, to support Democrats in Morris County, including Ron Goldberg's campaign in Morris Township. During those two years, over $37,000 was contributed by over 40 unions and union affiliates, some as far away as California!

In addition to all the union money that was contributed in 2006, Jon Corzine also contributed $10,000 of his own money to support Morris County Democrats and Ron Goldberg's campaign!
So much money was collected from labor unions far away from Morris Township . . . WHY? What did these contributors want in return?
Once in Office, Democrat Ron Goldberg Put Unions ahead of the Taxpayers
After being sworn into office, Ron Goldberg was an active participant in the budget process, along with the other four members of the Township Committee. But his concerns were not always aligned with taxpayers.
At its May 20, 2009, the Township Committee voted to protest Trenton's continuing practice of reducing municipal aid to the Township while imposing new mandates that have to be paid for with local taxes. Relying solely on Republican votes, the Committee passed a Resolution that would " . . . voice our objections to the New Jersey FY 2010 State Budget and insist on reinstatement of municipal aid, a freeze on any new unfunded state mandates and removal of existing unfunded state mandates." Both Democrats on the Township Committee, Jeff Grayzel and Ron Goldberg, voted AGAINST this Resolution!

Later, at budget time, Democrat Ron Goldberg supported the proposal put forward by the other Democratic Committeeman that non-union employees should be treated differently than their unionized co-workers. The message understood by the non-union personnel was they would get less favorable wage treatment than the unions. Prior to Ron Goldberg's election, the Township Committee's policy was to grant non-union Township employees the same wage increases negotiated with the Township's unions. But as a result of the Democrats' statements on the record and their transparent favoritism toward labor unions, several non-supervisory Township employees formed their own new union!
Ron Goldberg Wants Us to Believe that 5 – 0 Votes are a Bad Thing, But . . .
Ron Goldberg would have voters believe that he alone can be the "maverick" on the Township Committee - claiming on his web site that he has "...shaken up the 5-man Republican Township Committee structure . . ." The problem with this claim is that his voting record doesn't match his rhetoric! The truth is . . . Ron voted in agreement with his Republican counterparts 99.46% of the time during his entire three-year term! Republican leadership can't be so bad after all!

Given all the money and effort they have invested in getting Democrat Ron Goldberg elected, it is clear that labor unions and the NJ Democratic Party organization in Trenton consider keeping a Democrat on the Morris Township Committee to be a real trophy worth fighting for . . . our low taxes, compared to any Democrat-led town in New Jersey, means that we are under-taxed by their standards!
As we have demonstrated here in Morris Township, Republican leadership delivers results measured by low taxes, disciplined fiscal practices, and an outstanding quality of life.
Thanks to Democrat Ron Goldberg,
Morris Township now has ONE MORE LABOR UNION
to deal with!
THE TRUTH MATTERS!
This November 2nd, vote for Republican leadership
in Morris Township . . .
